No matter the measures we choose, comparison is a mindset that causes us to suffer in ways that will only continue to tear us down… instead of building us up.
Most of us tend to interpret others based on our own past experiences, unhealed hurts, and personal beliefs. In fact, sometimes our eyes are layered with so many filters, we get to a point where we become blind.
When we are not intentionally caring for ourselves, we are moving toward (unintentional) self-neglect.
Once we understand what someone is capable of, we need to incorporate that knowledge into our interactions with them. Too many times, we ignore red flags, hoping and waiting for the best.
Looking back, I now realize that one way my envy manifested itself was through judging others.
“Why did you do that?” is a question that becomes ingrained in our psyches—sometimes, to the point that we are triggered into explaining why we’ve done something, even when no one is asking.
